Buffalo High School senior golfer Alex Holtan signed the National Letter of Intent Tuesday morning to play golf for Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Iowa Wesleyan is an NAIA college, and a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference. Their mascot is the Tiger.
“I’m really excited for my upcoming future at Iowa Wesleyan” said Holtan. “I’m excited to play golf at the college level. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Holtan has been on the Buffalo varsity golf team for 4 years, with the highlight of his tenure being a round of 71 at Territory Golf Course in St. Cloud in 2009. Alex took first in that tournament, and carried the Bison to a 1st place finish overall out of 18 teams.
This year, Holtan has led the Bison to a pair of 4th place finishes out of 20 teams, with his low round being a 76 at Monticello Country Club.
