Boys hockey score late, end in a tie

The Bison tied against St Michael on Tuesday, January 25th at the Knights arena.  The Bison were one point behind all up until the third quarter when Aaron Rouse scored a goal the last 40 seconds which made the game proceed into overtime.

Within seven minutes of the first period St Michael scored the first goal. The Bison stepped up their game and came back shortly after with a goal from senior Cody Elleteson assisted from senior Tony Thein. The knights scored their second goal 24 seconds into the second period. Less the than a minute later the bison counter punched with a goal of their own from sophomore Aaron Rouse  assisted from junior Samuel Klein and senior Reid Trousdale. Less than two minutes later St Michael struck again with another goal from the Knights forward Jake Larson giving him a hat-trick, and putting the Bison down by one with a period to go.

The Bison had a few chances in the third, putting puck after puck on net with no luck time after time. With under a minute remaining and the goalie pulled, sophomore Aaron Rouse put one past the Knights goaltender for his second goal of the night, tieing the game 3-3 and sending it to over time.

In over time, each team had multiple chances to earn the victory, but the goaltenders stood tall, ending the game in a 3-3 tie.
