Bison Hockey First Victory Over Becker Bulldogs

The Boys Varsity Hockey Team had their first home game on Thursday, December 10th.  The team had previously played three games that ended with losses.  However, their game against the Becker Bulldogs looked promising as they finished the first period ahead 4-0.

“I think we got a little too confident going into the second period,” said Junior Forward Nickolas Jones. “But, luckily it ended up working out and we came out on top.”

Throughout the third period the Bison received eight penalties of two minutes each, but managed to score one goal. The Bulldogs capitalized on those penalties and managed to get in two goals making the score 5-2. But, Sophomore goalie Blake Schmidt stayed strong in the net and didn’t let in any goals during the third period. The Bison scored two goals in the third period, one of those being from Senior Forward Austin Perkins. Perkins was able to score three goals throughout the game, receiving a ‘hat-trick’.

The teams next game will be on Saturday, December 12th at the Bufallo Civic Center. They will play the Moorhead Spuds, who are ranked 3rd in state.
