The class of 2018 has 8 more days of high school

Seniors reflect on how only having 8 days left makes them feel

Senior Carson Dickie can not wait to walk out of the doors of BHS.

“As my final days of high school come to an end my body is erupting with excitement as I will finally escape the tight grip of oppression that this hell hole grabbed me with on the first day of school,” Dickie said.

Others though are trying to cherish their last few weeks as a high schooler. Seniors are starting to realize what only 8 days left really means. Elias Uecker has mixed emotions along with a few other seniors.

“I am extremely excited to be done with high school and move on to the next chapter of my life,” Uecker said, “but I’m also sad because I will miss all of the friends that I have made.”

“I am going to miss the relationships that I created with my teachers and peers. I can’t wait for what is to come, but it is bittersweet to leave the community,” said Senior Ali Tokkesdal.

Senior Kari Zumach leaves to go play Volleyball for Creighton in a week, so she only has 4 days left of high school.

“I am so ecstatic for the adventure that lies ahead,” Zumach said, “but it is going to be really hard to not be able to finish out the school year with the rest of the senior class. I will already be attending college and training for my sport so I will not get one last summer with all of my friends. This is a huge opportunity and blessing but you really don’t realize how much you love high school until you have to leave.”

Senior Claire Stevens said “I am eager to be done in 8 days, but I will miss my friends, the amazing teachers, and all of the wonderful opportunities BHS has brought me. I am both excited and nervous for what my future will bring.”

Peter Deneen leaves high school with his photo on the Hall of Fame wall, and he said leaving BHS brings mixed feelings.

“It is definitely a mix of emotions. I am ready to be done and move on to the next stages in life, but at the same time it is going to be tough leaving all of my friends and teachers,” Deneen said.
