Weight lifting competition begins Monday March 7th  at 5:00 pm it will be hosted at Rogers High School, weigh-ins will begin at 4:15 pm. It will be open to all males and females 9-12 grade.

Buffalo has been doing this sporting event for 11 years now. The first weight lifting competition started in 2001 and was the Pony Power Lift and was hosted at Stillwater High School. Buffalo now is in the Mississippi 8 conference which began in the spring of 2005 and it has been their 7th year. The schools that are in the Mississippi 8 conference are Buffalo, Rogers, STMA, Princeton, and Monticello.

“Students should go out for this sporting event because it gives them a chance to compete, meet other students and its a friendly environment,” said Troy Hanson tech teacher at BHS.

Medals will be awarded to the top three places in each weight class. Weight classes can be found on posters all around the school. There will also be a team champion trophy at the end of the competition and will be awarded to the top five finishes in each weight class.
