Monday was a SAD day for BHS singles

Monday,  February 14th was Valentine’s Day. A day of love, affection, and happiness. But, for a portion of the students at BHS, Monday went by a different name.

Single Awareness Day.

“It was fun in elementary school when you got candy, but after that it sucks,” said Junior Jonah Menough.

Many people find themselves single on Valentine’s day, but some people are completely oblivious to the festivities.

“Honestly, I didn’t even know it was Valentine’s day until half way through the day,” said Senior Dalton Lammers, who was left single on Monday.  “Valentine’s Day in high school is pointless. It’s not like your ever going to see any of these people again, so who cares?”

Most people who celebrate Valentine’s Day are happy being in a relationship, and most people who celebrate Single Awareness Day are happy being single. In either case, February 14th is a day to be celebrated.
