Boys’ Hockey ends season with loss to Moorhead

The Buffalo Bison Boys Hockey team finished their season Tuesday night with a loss to Moorhead in a section 8AAAA first round game.

The Bison entered the game with a record of 3-19-3, and ranked seventh in the section, while Moorhead went in with a record of 15-7-2, and ranked second in the section.

Buffalo came out strong defensively and held the Spuds off the scoreboard for the first 17 minutes, and went in to the first intermission tied 0-0. However the Spuds came out firing in the second period, putting 16 shots on Bison goalie Blake Schmidt, while scoring three times and held a 3-0 lead after two periods of play.

Buffalo came out stronger in the third and forced 7 shots on net, scoring once. The Spuds added 13 more shots in the third, adding two more goals finishing the scoring and the game with the Spuds winning 5-1. Moorhead out shot Buffalo 44-16.

The loss ends Buffalo’s season with an overall record of 3-20-3, and a record of 3-6-2 in conference.
