Bison Boys Hockey dominates St. Michael-Albertville 8-1 to win the Conference Championship

The rivalry between STMA and Buffalo is one that all students know about in all sports here at BHS. The Boys Varsity hockey team faced-off against the St.Michael-Albertville Knights in the Mississippi 8 Conference Championship game played on Saturday February 9th. With a final score of 8-1, the Bison captured its first Conference  title since 2013.

During the game, the junior all star, Jake Braccini netted six or the eight goals scored in this game. Braccini stated that this game meant a lot to him and his teammates.

“Personally it’s always fun to play St. Michael, either win or loss,” Braccini said, “but winning feels great, especially in your own rink.”

The last time that these two teams faced-off, was an intense battle that went all the way overtime, and in the closing minutes, junior Jake Braccini netted a very impressive backhand goal to win the first of two games for the Bison.

With the team winning the Conference title, it is just about time for sections, which means that our Boys hockey team will be taking on STMA one last time in the section tournament, for a potential spot in the state tournament.
