Top tennis players don’t make it far

Boys tennis has had a tough year. In team sections they were seeded 3rd and in the first round by passed 6th seeded Monticello 5-2. In the second round  they lost to the 2nd  seed St.Cloud Tech 0-7.

After a tough team sections Coach Jeff Lidstrom was looking forward to individual sections. In individual sections is when you have the top 2 singles and doubles from each team go and play. Due to an unfortunate mishappening Buffalo’s 3rd doubles player, Senior captian Adam Sandberg got called up to play in the individual singles tournament.

“I knew singles was a totally differnent game then doubles so I told myself I would just have fun with this oppurtunity.” Said Adam Sandberg.

Unfortunately the tournament didn’t last long for the Buffalo players. Senior Taylor Skinner loss in the first round to St. Cloud Tech singles. Set 1: 7-5 , set 2: 4-6, set 3: 3-6.

Senior captain Tony Thein and Sophomore Adam Hartung loss first round to St. Michael doubles players. Set 1: 1-6, set 2: 1-6.

Senior Reid Trousdale and Sophomore Andy Hartung were the only players to make it to the 2nd round. First round they beat Monticello’s doubles set1: 6-3, set 2: 6-3. Then got knocked out the next round.
