Japanese exhange student shares her experience in Buffalo

Senior Shiori Heute gave a brief presentation about Japan during AAA on February 12.  “I’m from Nagoya,” Heute said, “the third largest city in Japan.”
Throughout her presentation, Heute taught listeners a little about geography, government, schools, and customs/culture.  At the end, she also showed everyone how to say “hello” and “goodbye” in Japanese.
When the audience got to ask questions, she talked about a variety of aspects of her daily life.  One student asked her about the uniforms in Japan.
“We wear sailor uniforms,” said Heute.  “I like it, because I don’t have to think of a different outfit to wear everyday before school.”
Another girl asked about what activities Heute enjoys, she answered, “I’ve been in volleyball for two years and choir for three years.”
“There are many shopping malls near my house,” Heute answered when asked what her surroundings were like in Japan.  “For fun, we go to movies, get coffee, or shop.”
