With seniors only getting six graduation tickets each, many have to choose who can come to watch them during one of the biggest moments of their lives.

Principal Mark Mischke explained why it isn’t an option for graduation to be outside.

“Cost is one of our main factors in having the graduation inside or outside,” Mischke said. “We would have to buy something to put on the turf so we could put chairs on it. … The damage with the chairs and other stuff out there would be pretty significant.”

Not only does cost effect where graduation is held, but the unpredictability of the weather also makes having graduation outside a lot more complicated.

“Our second factor is the weather. We would have to set up the ceremony both indoor and outdoor to accompany the weather,” Mischke said. “If its too hot or raining, we would have to move it inside anyways so the cost and time it would take to set up wouldn’t make any sense.”

In the future, there might be an option for seniors to walk on the football field. The administration will keep talking about the topic, but for now, there will be limited seating and seniors will walk in the gym.

How Did Senior’s Spend Their Day Off? https://www.hoofprint.net/how-did-seniors-spend-their-day-off/2019/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-did-seniors-spend-their-day-off Mon, 13 May 2019 17:56:11 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=24552

As a senior, many people look forward to skip to their day off. Some spend the day shopping, getting ready for prom, but some decided to work on their day off.

Senior Mackenzie Pawelk spent her day getting ready for prom.

” I spent my day getting my nails done. As a softball player, we didn’t have much time to get anything done for prom so this was the best day for us to get everything ready.”  Pawelk says.

” I went “frolfing” with Micah Rassat and Carter Stein. ” Said senior, Josh Wagner.

But are seniors the only ones who took the day off? Junior Julia Carlson is in classes with many seniors and didn’t think it was worth coming to school.

” I took the day off so I could do my nails and I also decided to clean my house. I had a study hall in all my classes so I just decided not to come.” Said Carlson.

Princeton took the long drive to Buffalo just to lose 12-0 to the Bison in five innings.

The boys worked hard to get the field ready for their game, having to shovel their field during practice on Monday to improve their odds of playing.

Senior Calvin James said, ”It felt so nice to get out on the field. We only shoveled for about 30 minutes and we didn’t really see much of an improvement so on Tuesday the outdoor custodians spent a lot of time moving the snow around the field so we would be able to play.”

Erin Bersie, a senior wrestler whose season at Buffalo High School tragically ended with an injury, triumphantly returned to the mat and captured a Girls High School State Tournament title.

“I was super sad [after the injury],” Bersie said, “because I felt like everything I had worked for was crashing down.”

After waiting three and a half weeks, Bersie was on the mat ready to compete in the tournament.

“This was my last chance to wrestle in the State tournament,” Bersie said, “and I was not going to miss it for anything.”

The final match was a close one, but Bersie held her ground.

“It was a super close match and I didn’t even know I had won right away,” Bersie said.

She ended her High School career as a champion.

Are senior pictures worth the price? https://www.hoofprint.net/are-senior-pictures-worth-the-price/2019/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=are-senior-pictures-worth-the-price Thu, 21 Feb 2019 18:32:53 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=23360 Seth Curran and John Russett, seniors at Buffalo high school, took different directions in their senior photo session. John Russett, paid $0 while Seth Curran paid $1509.59.

“I didn’t really care about my pictures, but my mom wanted them to be high quality, so we hired a photographer,” said Curran.

While many seniors take the more expensive way by hiring a photographer, some take a cheaper route, like John Russett.

“Honestly I didn’t really want to have my senior pictures done so my dad just grabbed his iPhone and we took them on our deck,” Russett said.

Who's photo was better?

Many people think that having a professional take your pictures is the way to go, what do you guys think?

Although Buffalo High School students have the privilege of putting senior photos in the yearbook for free, many other school don’t get that chance. Some schools require the families to pay to put their senior photos in their yearbook in the form of a Senior Ad. In those schools, students don’t submit a senior photo; instead, they all have to wear the same outfit on picture day.

They do this to show that your economic standings doesn’t matter and everyone is ensured a place in the book. However, they can’t personalize their pictures.
