The quotes will be anonymous for the comfort of the students.

“My most embarrassing moment was mistaking a dude for my mom”

“I was walking with my lunch tray of spaghetti in 5th grade at Montrose Elementary and I slipped and fell and the food literally flew in the air in slow motion and then landed all over me and I sat on the floor and cried.”

“I was in the Hanover computer lab and Mrs. Martin was in there with us and she had yelled at the class because she was tired of cleaning up the pee puddles on the chairs and I really had to go to the bathroom, but she was so scary. So I just peed my pants and left the room, and tied my sweatshirt around my waist and nobody knew about that until now.”

“My most embarrassing moment in my life would be when I was in 2nd grade, I was alter-serving in Church and I peed my pants in front of everyone.”

As we moved past the moments that we hoped would never come up again we learned to laugh. We grew to accept the moments that made us cringe, because we all have had embarrassing moments it’s a part of life.

From one Extreme to Another – Human Barbie Doll sets Impossible Standards https://www.hoofprint.net/from-one-extreme-to-another-a-human-barbie-doll/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=from-one-extreme-to-another-a-human-barbie-doll Tue, 13 May 2014 16:40:25 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=18089 Prom season has just blown by and with it the tanning sensation, as summer rolls around so does the summer body obsession. Although can these trends go into extremes.

With people out in the world who look like real life barbies for example Valeria Lukyanova  a 21 year old from Russia made the biggest extreme the media has seen. She has made a her body into a real life Barbie-Doll. Including plastic surgeries that removed some of her ribs to give the appearance of a smaller waist.

Could this be the next big thing?

” I think people like food to much to look like the Barbie doll.” Explained sophomore Morgan Doimer.

What if someone from our school looked like Valeria Lukyanova.

” I would probably judge them and give them weird looks, and they wouldn’t be able to sit by me because they would be to plastic.” Commented Junior Sydney Warehime.

It seems to be every young girls desire to be perfect. At some point in our childhood we wanted to be Barbie.

Summer Time Madness https://www.hoofprint.net/summer-time-madness/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=summer-time-madness Thu, 08 May 2014 16:39:42 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=18050 As the school year comes to an end, summer time plans are blooming. Summer brings new adventures and a lot of grad parties. So with three months coming what is there to do.

Morgan Doimer a sophomore at BHS said ” I will be volunteering at the Animal Humane Society and working but when I’m free I will be with my friends.” “My favorite part of summer is going to Sydney Drivers lake.”

Summer time jobs are very common but there are students who are doing more.

” I do a lot of hockey camps but they are usually in the morning so I can hang out with my friends and go boating.” commented  junior Sydney Driver. ” Summer is great but my favorite is not going to school.”

So with less than a month left of school you better get on those schedules, and try to make the most of Summer 2014. Get those extra hours of sleep and hangout with your friends because before you know it, it will be Summer Time Sadness.

Promposals https://www.hoofprint.net/promposals/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=promposals Fri, 18 Apr 2014 17:26:44 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=17834 With spring, comes prom. Some students at BHS have been frantically searching for dates, while others are pondering how they will ask their significant other. The boys of BHS have set the bar high. From simple and sweet promposals, to big and extravagant, Each way is special.

“I made a parking ticket (that said ‘Prom”) and put it under her windshield.” said Junior David Glen

While some kept it sweet and simple, others had a certain charm.

“I made a sign out of glowsticks and the glowsticks said prom, and I put it in her room and when she got back from vacation it was there.” said Junior Jake Lynch.

“It was romantic as hell.” Said Jake lynch’s prom date, Junior Katherine Martin.

Everybody hopes that their prom proposal goes as planned, but for some, It doesn’t always work out.

“I went to applebees and they had a brownie drizzle thing, So I had syrup decorated on all the sides and on the inside it said ‘PROM’. She didn’t realize it so by the time she read it, the P sunk down to a D, and the O turned into a U and it said ‘DRUM’.” Said Junior Joey Durr

Junior Dan Werner had the same Idea, but a different outcome.

“I went to Applebees and had them write ‘PROM’ with the syrup when we ordered the dessert, and when it came out it just said ‘PROM’ on the plate and it was awesome. I thought it was clever.” Said Werner.

Where is the Mock Prom Crash? https://www.hoofprint.net/where-is-the-mock-prom-crash/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=where-is-the-mock-prom-crash Thu, 17 Apr 2014 16:54:26 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=17774 Prom is approaching. With this event happening in less than three weeks we are hearing warnings of drinking and driving. There is a tradition here at BHS that every other year there will be a mock crash focused on the dangers of drinking and driving.

If you are unfamiliar with the prom mock crash it has focused around drinking and driving especially on prom night.  The crash would include a couple coming home from prom drunk, while driving they would hit another vehicle and  people would be ejected from the car from not wearing their seat belts. There would be real police officers and fireman during the mock crash and there would be an emergency helicopter air lift.

Josh Erickson our school police officer whom organizes the even has  postponed the mock crash until next year due to personal events that happened in the year of 2013.

Physics vs. Chemistry https://www.hoofprint.net/physics-vs-chemistry/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=physics-vs-chemistry Thu, 03 Apr 2014 02:51:04 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=17653 Graduation requirements have been altered starting with the junior class. Now, you can choose to take either Chemistry or Physics which is a change from previous requirements. Before, it was mandatory for you to take Chemistry to be able to graduate. This adaption has made it possible for students to choose which class suits them the best. Although it has never been required, students also have the option to enroll in both courses if they choose.

In a survey conducted at Buffalo High School, 102 students responded. The survey was sent out to the entire school’s population by their school e-mail. These are the stats:

Mock Trial Goes to State https://www.hoofprint.net/mock-trial-goes-to-state-2/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=mock-trial-goes-to-state-2 Wed, 05 Mar 2014 18:04:09 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=17330 With an undefeated season and a hardworking team, the mock trial team has earned a spot at state along with 10 other schools in Minnesota. The Buffalo varsity team is anticipating a great outcome.

“This is very exciting, I think we have a really good group of people going this year” Said Senior Presley Rumsey

This year the team has six seniors, Which is more seniors than they have ever had. Although it may be a great number of seniors, It has really helped the team gain great success.

“Our team is awesome, We have really good dynamics with each other,” says Rumsey “We pull our strengths together in a sense, We are good together.”

Although the team feels that they have a shot at winning state, they are nervous for some competitors.

“From what we know now, the Nova Classical Academy may be our biggest competitor because they won the state tournament last year.” Said Varsity Coach Evan Ronken

The state tournament will be held on March 11th, at the St. Louis county courthouse in Duluth, Minnesota.

Bring On the Olympics. https://www.hoofprint.net/bring-on-the-olympics/2014/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=bring-on-the-olympics Wed, 12 Feb 2014 18:15:00 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=16960

The Olympics are here. Winter Olympics are every four years so its a big deal.  The winter Olympics are hosted in Sochi Russia, it is said that it was the biggest turn out of Olympic athletes that we have yet to see. There have been many concerns about Russia hosting the winter Olympics because they are afraid of safety concerns of the Olympians. So what do people at Buffalo High School think of the Olympics and what about the Winter Olympics is their favorite.

“I think it’s sweet especially the figure skating.”  Junior Sydney Driver commented.

What makes the Winter Olympics so special compared to the Summer Olympics?

Katherine Martin a Junior at Buffalo High school said “ I think it’s the events. The weather Highly influences the condition in which they compete. It’s harder which makes it worth watching.”

There are so many interesting sports to watch during the Olympics it’s hard to decide which one.

A lot of people really enjoy the figure skating including Junior Megan Pearson “ Ice skating is my favorite because when I watch it I feel like an Olympic skater.”

With the winter Olympics it’s more difficult to watch because of the busy schedules of people working and in school compared to the laid back Summer Olympics when there is generally more free time for students.

“ It’s definitely more difficult to watch the winter Olympics because of school. I try to watch them when I can.” Junior Malorie Davidson said.
