Prom is a night to remember.

The junior class cabinet is in charge of prom they have selected the theme Garden of Lights. According to Junior Kayla Owens, the theme was selected to be a little different from past years. The colors of the prom our green and gold.

“We were just flipping through prom magazines and really liked the way that green and flowers looked with the lamp posts and lights,” said Owens. “We liked the idea of a garden because it is something romantic and different, but not over the top. We are really excited for this year’s prom because it’s a little different. We wanted to stay away from the usual red and gold prom colors and the typical 1920s theme.”

Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, at the Minneapolis Marriott Hotel. Grand March will be held at the high school that afternoon.

What are Seniors doing after high school https://www.hoofprint.net/what-are-seniors-doing-after-high-school/2016/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-are-seniors-doing-after-high-school Wed, 17 Feb 2016 17:30:02 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=20502 Everyone gets asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The seniors are finally leaving high school to go accomplish what they want to do. Some wonder what seniors are doing once they leave in to the big world. As some head off to college, going off to serve our country, and some will just start working.

Many seniors are still undecided and don’t know what they are doing. Counselor Christina Cox said,  “Students should do what interests them. Don’t do something that you won’t like, even if there is a lot of money involved. You will be miserable.”

Some take the traditional route and head off to a college and earn a degree of some sort. Many might take a different route and do something that interests them.

Senior Mia Woodwick plans on pursuing a career as a Journalist.

“I plan on going to Iowa State University for a  Four Year Degree in journalism and mass communication,” Woodwick said. “I am very happy and excited to go to college and have some change.”
