Leah Petersen said “the meeting went off without a hitch.” during the meeting the member and guest got to look back on  all the things that they accomplished during the year. this year has been great for the FFA sending 8 teams to state and bring home most improved chapter. the banquet was a time to look back on all of these achivements and know that there is many more years to come.

What makes the these book so special, and what impact do they have on seniors? Eighth grade teacher Jan Heyerdahl,  who’s been doing this for 25 years, said ” It’s as successful as the students make them. They reap the rewards, and under it all they become better writers.”

Natasha Leech who has only been doing this for four years said, ” I hope that the seniors appreciate getting them back.”

Many seniors  have varing veiw on getting their books back. Senior Matt Streeter said he really did care about the book.

Heyerdahl told a story about one senior that was able to get her book back. “One time I got a book back to a mom  whose daughter was killed in a car crash. When she got the book back, the mom made me promise that I would keep doing this.”

Semper Fi Do or Die https://www.hoofprint.net/semper-fi-do-or-die/2009/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=semper-fi-do-or-die Mon, 27 Apr 2009 19:05:16 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=884 Recruiting sub station Buffalo goes to Arden hill training site were they participated in a mini boot camp were poolies and guest got a taste of what it going to be like at boot camp. the men and women of RSS Buffalo went on what for some of them was something that expanded their knowledge of how the marine corps works.

at 1:30 RSS Buffalo made it way down to Arden Hill training  site. when they got there they set up there tent. after that they started to do some rely event to past the time which Buffalo came out on top on every event. after all these events the poolies and guest hit the sack. on Saturday the day started at 0500 ( for all you civilian that 5:00 am ). They start with a CFT or combat fitness test; then hike up to do land navigation, after that they went to learn about the m-16 rifle, then move on to learn about marine corps history, after that they went to mcmap tranining, after that they went to frist aid tranining, after that thewent on to do drill with real DI from cal. and other thing all in a full day. sunday morning they tore down their tent and help to clean up then ate and loaded to bus home. the week was fun all and all and we had a great time doing thing and working as a team  marine corps rules

Drill Instructors visit Minn. https://www.hoofprint.net/drill-instructors-visit-mn/2009/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=drill-instructors-visit-mn Wed, 04 Feb 2009 00:29:34 +0000 https://www.hoofprint.net/?p=86 Last night, RSS Buffalo and RSS Coon Rapids meet for a annual family night. this night is when family members can ask questions about what their son or daughter will be going though when they get to boot camp. They also got to see what their children would go though when they meet their dill instructors.

The meeting started at 6 pm and ended at 9 pm. Right at the beginning,  the poolies ( the kids that have signed up) where sent to see the drill Instructors, where they were put though a series of warm ups then the parents where bought down to see what their kids would go though when they got to boot camp. After that, they went to eat and ask any questions that they had to the Sergeant Major and the Drill Instructor.
