  1. The game starts at 4:00 with the Bison hosting the Spuds at home
  2. Bison are going into sections with a 9-9 record and are 4-4 against section teams
  3. The Bison have the 4th seed and Moorhead has the 5th

The Bison will be playing for their 5th straight section championship and state appearance. That means that seniors who have played every year in high school will have gone to the state tournament every high school season.

“It would be really cool to be able to say that you went to state every year,” said senior Jordan Zrust.

  • Thursday’s game is a rematch of last year’s Section Final that Buffalo lost to Maple Grove
  • The winner gets to go to the State Tournament
  • Buffalo has beaten Elk River and Moorhead in sections already
  • The game is in St. Michael at 7 pm
  • The winner of the game will play in the first round of State on March 20
  • There will be seven other teams in the State Tournament with the winner of Thursday’s game

Tuesday night, girls varsity basketball players Reese Wishart and Alyssa Sorenson scored 5 points in the last 30 seconds to beat the Monticello Magic on their home court.

The  game was close throughout. Buffalo led the first half but not by much. The second half began and the lead went back and forth, Monticello would gain the lead and then Buffalo would take it again. with only a few minutes left, Buffalo was losing 40-41. Buffalo fouled and Monticello made 2 free throws to make the score 40-43. With 30 seconds left, Reese Wishart made a 3 point shot to tie the game at 43. With only 12 seconds left, Monticello took an offensive on Alyssa Sorenson. She made both free throws to win the game 45-43.

Everyone was so pumped we had won, and it was insane the way we did. That made it ten times more exciting. – Reese Wishart
