Girls’ basketball tied for Conference lead after loss to St. Michael

The Bison Varsity Girls’ Basketball team went into their game against St. Michael Albertville on Monday, February 1st with an undefeated record in Conference. They emerged with a loss, changing their conference record to 10-1-0. With only five Mississippi 8 games left, the outcomes will determine where the Bison are ranked for section play-offs. Because of the recent loss, the team is now tied with St. Michael Albertville, who also has one loss, for first place in the Conference.

“Now that we’re tied with STMA and we’ve both lost one, we need to win every game,” said Senior Kristin Jeske. “We have no control over what they do since we’ve already played them twice, so it’s all up to us.”

The next game will take place on Friday, February 5. The Bison will take on the Rogers Royals at 7:30 at Buffalo High School.

“I’d say they’re our third toughest opponents,” said Junior Calli Durst. “After losing to STMA this week we really have to step it up if we want to come out on top of the Conference.”
