Trap Team Shoots for State Once again

On Monday April 27th Buffalo High School Trap Team began their first match of the season. The meet took place at the Buffalo Gun Club where they meet every Monday night. Buffalo Sophomore Zach Berg feels confident about the team.

“I think we’re going to do alright. I don’t think we’re going to do as well as last year because we don’t have Kurt Potter this year, it’s sad,” says Berg. “But I think we’ll be okay. I think we will win our state trophy again because we have a lot of good shooters.”

On the 2014 team, Buffalo had 22 shooters, but with 14 returning shooters and the addition of 20 new shooters this year, there are many new faces to learn.

“It’s bigger, I don’t know as many people, but everyone is friendly,” Berg states.

The team is currently placed second in their conference right behind Pequot Lakes High School. Each individual on the team has their own talent that they bring to the table each week.

“Well being a captain to me means more responsibility, says Junior Brandy Evans. “I am a team leader, but I don’t feel like I stand out compared to other shooters because we are all one team and we work together.”
