SSU Sends Hugs and Kisses

Throughout last week, Students Stepping Up (SSU) held a “Hugs and Kisses” fundraiser. For $1, students could buy a bag of Hershey’s Kisses to send to anyone in the school on Valentine’s Day.

Around 69 bag of chocolate were sold during the week at all lunches.

“We made about $70,” said SSU member and senior Brittany Snyder, “But it’s not about the money, we just do it to have fun.”

The candy was then sent around the school between couples, friends, and secret admirers on Valentine’s day morning.

Junior Christina Bokusky purchased a bag for her boyfriend, senior Tayler Marschel earlier in the week.

Bokusky said, “I got them for him because I just wanted to do something special. It was small but it was a thought. He means a lot to me and he always will. I like to get him random cute things just so he knows I care.”

“I had no idea I was getting them so when I got them I was surprised and really happy,” said Marschel.
