Girls’ Lacrosse team recognizes seniors

“This game was the game that I’ll look back on when I think of playing lacrosse in high school,” said Senior Claire Parsons. “I had all of my seniors by my side while we played a very hard team. We showed everyone that were hard competition, even though we lost 11-12.”

Last Wednesday was senior night for the Buffalo Girls’ Lacrosse team. The girls  played White Bear Lake who, on paper, are pretty evenly matched with the Bison. The Buffalo girls’ record was 4-7 while the Bears sit at 5-9. Parsons anticipated a tough game versus an opponent who is in a different division.

Many of the girls understood that this game meant that they needed to step forward and play their hardest. For a few of them it’s their last year playing and since it was senior night they wanted to show what they’ve done and how they’ve grown over the years.

“We represented what we accomplished,” said Senior Amanda Krcma. “With graduation coming up it’s almost the end for us at Buffalo High School, and that means that it’s time for us and others to realize that we’re moving on to a new chapter in life.”

For most of these girls, they enjoyed the fact that they get a chance to be honored and appreciated for how far they’ve come.

“Senior night gave us all a chance to be appreciated and honored,” said Senior Rachel Stenson. “Knowing that this was our last home game of the season is sad, but the memories we had and the friendships we have built are unforgettable.”
