Bison Girls’ Hockey season comes to an end

The Girls Hockey Team turned in their jerseys and cleaned out the locker room after Benilde defeated the Bison and ended their season on Saturday, February 14.  Benilde was ranked 3rd out of the 8-team 6AA Section, and Buffalo was ranked 6th.   The final score of the game was 4-1; the only goal for the Bison was scored by 8th Grader Katie Rooney.

“We really played hard the first period,” said Head Coach Ray Dahlof.  “By the second period they were up 4-1, and that’s hard to come back from.  We shut them out in the third period and had many scoring opportunities, things just weren’t going our way.”

The girls ended with a record of 15-11.  In the Mississippi 8 Conference their record was 11-3, tied with Mound.

“I think this year went very well.  We had six or seven one-goal losses, so a lot of games were close.  We continued to improve throughout the year and we’re going to come out strong next year,” said Dahlof.
