Agriculture classes cutting up animals

Kocherer’s third block class dissected a pig, two sheep, and a rabbit. This took place in the back shop behind Kocherer’s regular classroom on January 5th 2011. Kocherer had to teach his class where things are in animals, what body part does what, how to tell if something wasn’t working right, and if the animal was well taken care of.

When dissecting the pig they found out she was pregnant. What happened to her is she had split. Split means she slipped on the ice or some such thing and broke her hip. Just like a dog or any other animal can do. Animals hips are not meant to move in that direction. They are not like humans. Maybe if this pig did not weigh so much she wouldn’t of split but all the weight felling on one spot made this happen.

As for the sheep there wasn’t anything wrong with her. She was just getting old and thin. Her life was coming to an end. The rabbit also was just a regular rabbit.

The class had to learn the different parts of different animals and these are the animals that Kocherer could easily get a hold of.
