“The Curse is broken”-Girls Varsity Gymnastics

Buffalo’s varsity gymnastics placed fourth out of five teams, with a score of 125 on Saturday at Gustavus.

“ I’m not surprised we got fourth because the other teams threw better skills than us,” said freshman Noelle Ziegelmann. “It’s hard to know what’s coming when you compete against all varsity; it’s a big surprise you don’t expect.”

“The Gustavus meet was very encouraging,” said Coach Laumann. “We had a few mishaps here and there. The gymnasts put lots of new skills into their routines.”

Each year gymnasts travel to Gustavus for a varsity competition and leave with at least one person injured.

“I was so happy after Alex stuck her last tumbling pass because it was the first time in years that no one got hurt,” said freshman Mallorie Habisch.

The curse was broken,” said Ziegelmann.

Friday, January 11 is the junior varsity and varsity  meet against their rival school, Monticello at 6:20 p.m.
