Lacrosse girls dominate in their first game of the season

Spring Lake Park Girls’ take a major defeat when playing Buffalo on Wednesday April 15th.  The Junior Varsity team started at 5:30 pm.  The center, Freshman Rachel Stenson, made a great first impression by scoring the majority of the points throughout the game.  SLP scored once during the first half and once in the second half, but hardly made a dent leaving the final score 13-2.

As the Varsity team warmed up, one of the referees took his little dog Jack on a run, while the SLP Varsity girls strategized.  After the ball and mouthgaurd check, Coach Andrea Lund called in for a quick huddle.  As she called out their positions, the rest of the team tried to pump each other up by jumping up and down or giving mini pep talks. Their game started at 7:00 pm.  Senior Brianna Gladden started it off.  The first half started out great, the team scored many times and with a few minor calls on stick checking, among others, the team managed to keep their lead.  In the second half  SLP managed to slip by and score, but we fixed our mistake and didn’t let it happen again.  The final score was 13-1.
