Garden of Lights: Junior Class Cabinet announces the 2016 prom theme

Prom is one of the most special nights in a high school student’s life, from seeing your significant other in a beautiful dress or a handsome tux to asking your date in the cutest ways, to winning prom king and queen. Prom is a night to remember.

The junior class cabinet is in charge of prom they have selected the theme Garden of Lights. According to Junior Kayla Owens, the theme was selected to be a little different from past years. The colors of the prom our green and gold.

“We were just flipping through prom magazines and really liked the way that green and flowers looked with the lamp posts and lights,” said Owens. “We liked the idea of a garden because it is something romantic and different, but not over the top. We are really excited for this year’s prom because it’s a little different. We wanted to stay away from the usual red and gold prom colors and the typical 1920s theme.”

Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, at the Minneapolis Marriott Hotel. Grand March will be held at the high school that afternoon.
