DJ Hero, only scratching the surface.

DJ Hero was recently released on the 27th of October for the Xbox 360, PS3, and of course the Wii.

This game has shown how far the video game industry can go, how hands on video games can be and how real it can make it feel. Guitar Hero kind of gave you the feeling of playing the guitar, moving your hand down the frets, but not the feeling of hitting one, or more, of the six strings, then Guitar Hero got one upped by MTV Games/Electronic Arts, with the help of Neversoft developing it, when Rock Band was released. Rock Band gave so much more: drums, bass/rhythm and vocals. Red Octane didn’t much like that,  so they released Guitar Hero World Tour, which brought the same thing as Rock band: drums, bass/rhythm and vocals, but before that Red Octane released Gutiar Hero 3 which brought bass and rhythm in to the picture.

FreeStyleGames developed DJ hero, Activision published it, a known gaming company that has released many great games (Call of Duty, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and a few others), knew their reputation would be boosted by this game. Activisions CEO Mike Griffith said “DJ Hero was really getting traffic on the floor. We’re getting a lot of broad interest, but DJ Hero is stealing the show. There’s tremendous energy behind DJ Hero, people are responding to the innovation, it’s new and different and satisfies a new type of consumers and a new audience.”

DJ Hero, is where it’s at for hands on Musical Gaming.
